Our Fur-members

A little about our dogs

We have a few fur-members in the family. We have Moose of course and hes our main stud as well as Rue now however I do occasionally use my mothers blue merle male Gunner. We have 4 girls. Ruby is our red tri girl. With this lady we produce some of the prettiest red tris and red merles. Each girl has her own unique thing that I love about their attitudes but all of these girls love to snuggle. Annie, Lilly and Brook, are our black tri females. From them we produce black tri, blue merles and occasionally some dilute tris and merles. Dilutes are not a recognized color if you plan to show but are beautiful dogs and if your looking for something a little different they are a great choice. There is no health risk caused by being a dilute. It was an original color of the Australian Shepherd however the show people decided they only wanted to recognize red tri/bi, red merle, black tri/bi and blue merles therefore they tried to breed the dilute colors out and due to some of our dogs old bloodlines it occasionally comes out. I personally love them.

Our facilities

Although we live on a farm we do have pens to assure the safety of our dogs while we cant be home and at night. Living in the country we have tons of wild animals such as hogs, coyotes, black headed buzzards, black bear and reports of large cats. Due to this we installed a few pens to house our fur members for safety reasons as well as for health, feeding and for girls in season. Our dog building is located roughly 40ft from our front door so I can still easily access them should an issue arise. Our home is also equip with a puppy room with a dog door  that leads to a large inclosed pen for the safety of the pups. Our puppies generally stay inside our home with us where we can give them extra love. Weather permitting we will take them out on occasion to see the sights, sounds, animals and play outside. Raising puppies is not as easy as it sounds. There is a lot of work that goes into insuring health, cleaning, training and the first few weeks of just making sure the pups are ok. I've been known to sleep with mommas for the first 2 weeks to help her with feeding and make sure nobody gets lost or  smothered. Some pups need a little extra help so it's always important to me to be very involved and know how each pup is doing. Being there with momma I know who's eating and who maybe needs to eat some more as well as make sure everyone stays hydrated.
